Type Anatomy and Classification Infographic

INTRODUCTION
In this project the goal was to make an infographic of typography highlighting type classifications and anatomy by stacking letterforms in various hues and shades and then diagram the properties of each type
PROCESS
While working on this project I learned the different parts of a letter and how to identify them. I used multiple trials to see how each character and type face interact really helped me to create my final designs.

For the first poster I used the fonts Clarendon, Futura and Didot. I think these typefaces work well together because their different levels of intricacy. Futura being a sans serif font, Clarendon being a slab serif font and lastly the Italic “J” in Didot helps to direct the viewers eyes across the page. I also decided to use a monochromatic color scheme for this composition. The letters all being a different shade of brown adds to the cohesiveness of the infographic.

As for the second composition I used the fonts Helvetica, Didot, and Avenir. I think that using the typeface of Didot allowed me to form more combinations due to its serifs. I also chose to have both other fonts as sans serif to sustain the simplicity within my design. As for the color scheme I decided to use bright oranges, pinks, and reds to differentiate it from my other design.
